Apparently...
Kittie is going to the Humane Society tomorrow to get yet another cat.
And NO, I'm no joking. She asked if the other room mates would like to go with her.
All I can think is... WTF. Seriously. She has three cats. She wont get rid of any of them, and yet, she wants to get a fourth cat?! This woman is CRAZY. I DON'T understand! D: So you all can bet I have no qualms of the idea in my stealing of Orange, especially if she plans on getting another cat.
1. She's already at the WEIGHT LIMIT for our apartment and has said so herself when Ember talked about wanting a dog. But she'll go get another cat? Knowing Ember wants a pet for herself?
2. SHE HAS THREE CATS. Technically, she only OWNS two of them. After talking to the original owner of Orange, I found out that Kittie STOLE him from her, and she is still the owner. That fact aside, she still has too many cats. I was told by the girl I'm moving in with that she heard from a lawyer that there is a State Law limiting the number of cats within an apartment to 2 cats.
[I'm looking into the validity of this law to possibly use against her. :/ I want that cat.]
3. I hate her. Okay, that doesn't really have anything to do with why she should or shouldn't get another cat, only that she is a bitch for denying me a cat that clearly likes Beta and I better, AND stating she is going to buy another cat, which I'm sure is just to spite us. WTF.
Beta told me that apparently, as soon as Kittie got home, she started calling for Orange. "Orangey! Orange, Orange! Orangeorangeorangeorangeorange!!!" Like, for five minutes straight. Beta said as soon as Orange heard her calling him, he jumped off the back of the couch where he had been napping and bolted into our room to hide. Just more PROOF that he loves us. Or at least prefers us to Kittie.
At the moment, the plan for taking Orange is simple. When Kittie leaves tomorrow, I'm going to sneak into her room and search for his papers. She can't prove anything if she doesn't have his papers. Then, the last day we are here, we sneak Orange out and the Owner, Jen, will call Kittie and let her know that because she was withholding her cat unjustly, ignoring her calls, and broke their verbal contract, she has asked us to take possession of Orange and send him to her. [But She say's she wants us to have him, at least until she can afford to transport him to Hawaii, but most likely she'll just let us keep him.]
So a bit of back history as to why Kittie has Orange. Jen lived near us and went to the same art college as Kittie. Jen had to move back to Hawaii, but the government wouldn't allow Orange to fly out of the state without updated rabies vaccines, which would require him to stay in Washington for 170 ish days after the shot to make sure he wouldn't be affected, at which time whoever was taking care of him would be in touch with Jen to make arrangements to send him back to Hawaii.
Beta and I were going to house him till the 170 days were up, but a complication with Beta's family meant we weren't able to take him. Kittie offered, to the same agreement where she would give him back after the 170 days of probation were up. Instead, she deleted Jen from all social sites, blocked her, and screened her texts and calls, breaking the verbal contract they had made.
I was completely unawares to all this. Kittie told me that Jen had pretty much abandoned him with her and never contacted her. Not the case.
So Jen told us that she doesn't want Kittie to be in possession of Orange any longer. She came up with this plot to get his papers and take him when we leave, and gave us her blessing.
So my POLL is just to see what you all think of this idea. Do you think it's a good idea for us to go through with stealing Orange? Yes, No, Better ideas on how to go about doing it? And does anyone know about this two cats per apartment rule?
Anyways. Besides that drama, I though I would share some art with you all!
This is a painting I did. It is acrylic on wood, titled "Sweet Dreams". I did it last year in May. <3
The pictures doesn't really do it justice. The Moon is really yellow, as are the stars, and the stars are haloed in a soft blue that makes them look like they are glowing. >0< But oh well. I hope to get a better picture to put up on DA and maybe Etsy. I'm selling this 3X7 painting for $8. :3 As well as a few more of my paintings on the same size of wood.
I'm also working on a commission piece for someone on Gaia. And all I can say is ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME I STARTED. Since he commissioned me at the end of November. But Holidays and then Kittie Drama made it nearly impossible for me to draw. :/ I posted the rough sketch on DA. <3 Critiques welcome, please! My arm anatomy needs some work, but I plan on fixing that when I line it on Paint Tool SAI. But any thing you guys notice would be helpful!
Anyways. I'm tired.

Apples

No, you really don't want to stoop down to her level. How about talking to the landlord?
ReplyDeleteIf I had the opportunity, I'd buy that owl painting in a heartbeat.
ReplyDelete@Jennifer: I am going to talk to the ladies at the office to see if she is breaking any rules.
ReplyDelete@Anon: Thanks. <3
I consider pets as kids. While they need to be taken care of and cannot be left alone, if old enough, they can choose who they want to be with for their selves. Orange obviously prefers you, so if you can legally get away with it--kittynap away!
ReplyDeleteCats are free. No one owns them.
ReplyDeleteOrange obviously goes where he likes,
so who's to say he didn't just 'hitch'
a ride with you lot?
I tried looking into city code regarding # of animals and this was the closest thing i could find:
ReplyDelete"Excess Number of Cats and/or Dogs. To own five or more adult cats and/or dogs at the same place or residence without a valid commercial pet facility, animal welfare facility, hobbyist or enthusiast license"
But like you said she is at the weight limit and you can always report her to the apartment complex if she does bring in yet another cat.
btw, love the owl painting ;)
Yes, yes, take the cat.
ReplyDeleteThose are terrible living conditions for these animals, their owner is neglectful. To leave him there with yet another cat coming in, it would be cruel.
Stealing is wrong.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, that poor cat deserves a good home, and needs to be "saved" from Kittie. ;D
Take the cat.
