Today and Yesterday have been nice.
Went to Seattle for a concert yesterday. I had one tickets to see Thirty Seconds to Mars at the Paramount. Literally, the best seats I've ever been in. Too bad it wasn't the best performance I've ever been too. It was a bit of a disappointment, but we still enjoyed ourselves.
The opening act was Middle Class Rut. At first we thought it was just some guys sound checking the instruments, it was just noise. Then the leadman started singing, and we were confused. It wasn't audible. The drummer was just bashing away, and the leadman/guitarist, was just kinda jumping around. There were only the two of them, which is one big reason why we were so confused. Most bands have at least three people. Non the less, they were energetic, but didn't introduce themselves till they sang their most popular song, New Low, after THREE loud and incoherent songs. Then they just walked off.
After some rearranging of the stage, Thirty Seconds to Mars finally came out. Over all, they were energetic and very receptive. There were, however, some very big things that made their performance lacking.
1. The Lights. Lights are a great asset to any show. They help show moods, excitement, convey emotions.
They also can blind. And that was the issue. Some smart ass decided to set up the lights, which were mostly STROBE lights, pointed at our balcony seats. Because of this I not only got a head ache but....
2. We could not See/Watch or hear the band. Stobes in your face makes it hard to look. We couldn't hear the band because of the noise of the crowd.
3. When I go see a band, I want to hear the BAND sing.... no the audience. The Lead singer would sing a few words, then point the mike at the audience to sing the rest of the sentence in every single one of the songs.
"We were the -mike to audience-...."
-facepalm- I'm so thankful I didn't PAY for these tickets. It would have been a waste of almost $70, plus the ferry ride money, parking, food...... UGH. JARED. Seriously. I came to hear you sing. AT LEAST SING ONE OF YOUR SONGS ALL THE WAY THROUGH.
Didn't happen.
Overall, a Disappointment. The rest of Seattle was great, though!
Beta finally got his shoes shined by a shoe shiner. XD It sounds silly, but he's always wanted it done. I got a new scarf, and we just kinda hung out and enjoyed each other's company, all the way till 2am, cause we missed the 10:30 ferry and had to catch the 12:50am. Ugh.
Today I woke up at 11 to go to my parents house and watch a local show where my adopted sister sang for a contest. She sang "Chain of Fools" and did so BEAUTIFULLY!
Then I went back to H's house and woke Beta up. We played some games, then went to rescue my little sister Ruby from college. XD We went and played with chalk.
Beta's looked good. XD I made a DINO! 8D
Then we all went to lunch/dinner and dropped my sister off with her mom. Beta and I went back home, and have been relaxing the rest of the day. Tomorrow, after I get off work, I'm gonna go to the apartment and pack all our clothing up to move to the house. Then we'll be getting out bed the next day, hopefully. Oh fun. At least we're getting things done!
So, I'll have some stories about that probably in the next few days. Most likely Kittie will complain while I box up things and bother me to rummage through everything to make sure I didn't steal anything from her. She did that when I packed up all our games.
Anyways, have a good night guys! All my Angry Love,
Apples

:( Sucked Jared did that.
ReplyDeleteDid they play mainly the new album or a mixture?
if I see them I'd like to hear the old stuff.
I'm going to miss this blog once you move out. >w<
I;ve been lurking since day 1 .
Haha. I bet you're really excited to get out !
I'm not really sure. I'm only familiar with a few of their songs. >0<
ReplyDeleteI can make a new blog? I kinda have another one made up, but it's in development and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with it.
I am, though, I really am. I should have started this blog like... two months ago. Sorry. XD
Ah okay :P
ReplyDeleteYes you should have started it 2 months ago !!
Just link the new blog if you decide to go public with it (:
I've often wondered how singers can carry on night after night singing... my voice gets tired at work talking on the phone all the time. I used to sing, too, but not like... every day for hours at a crowd.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this lack of enthusiasm was to save their voice? Sounds like a ripoff, I know, but if they were just about self-preservation at that point I suppose I could understand, but that doesn't make the concert any less disappointing.
