It's a rare occurrence, to be sure, but every once in a while it happens.
I woke up early to help out my parents, then hung out with Beta, Dora and Ember till I had to go to work. I haven't had a Kittie encounter at all today, and best of all, when I got home... THE HEAT WAS ON! 8D
That sounds weird, but Kittie has this obsession with turning the heat off even when it's only 21 degrees outside. Our temperature is currently 40 degrees, 38 with wind chill. But last week and the week before, when it was so cold my car froze over and I had to take a hot rag to my key lock, she kept turning it off.
Which brings up a conversation I had with Kittie when Dora and Ember moved in. She was upset because the heating bill had jumped another $30s. She stated she wanted to not turn on the heat at all, and that we should just get "house coats", or robes to all you normal people, our outside coats and blankets and suck it up.
Yes, Suck it up.
I told her, NO. There is no reason for us to put on heavy layers of clothing and coats in our own house, and besides, its not JUST the heat that is making the bill go up. There are two more people in the house doing laundry, taking showers, making good, playing games... I then tried to explain to her that the average person leave the heat on at a constant 65 degrees. My mom never lets it get below 68 in her house. And my good friend H. turns it up to 70-72 at night. But she didn't like that idea.
"I burn up and sweat when its at 55! I can't handle 65!"
So Dora and Ember tried to make a compromise. How about we keep it at 50 degrees instead?
Beta tried to explain that because we are in an older unit, the heaters don't like to kick on until the dial is turned past the 55/60 mark. They couldn't grasp it, even after we demonstrated and they could audibly hear the dial click and then the heaters fire up.
"So... 55 then?"
Nooooooo. It needs to be PAST 55/60 to even turn on!
"Oh.... So 55."
-face palm-
Then the entire conversation started over again, because somewhere around Kittie's burning up comment, she checked out of the conversation and was distracted by Annoying or Little Bitch. So she restated that we should just get house coats and blankets and not turn the heat on.
So then I made the point that we could NOT leave the heat off, or even at 50. Fifty Degrees is only 18 degrees above freezing. And if the heat is "off" at 50, then it won't hold that temperature, and the house will be freezing.
Yeah. No go on that point either. The conversation went on for WAY to long.
Finally, Beta and I left to our comfortable 60 degree room and spent the rest of the night away from idiocy. We decided that we would make sure the heat was on at all times, and even when Mamabitch turns it off literally two seconds after we turn it up, then we go and turn it up again. Eventually, Kittie backed off, and Ember and Dora got the idea, and they keep the main house warm.
I love coming home to a warm house. <3 So someone on Gaia commented the Thread I started to promote this blog. They said:
Lol.
I'll admit, this is the first non-terrible blog I've seen in a long while. I also have to say, you are filled with...a lot of hatred. Have you considered taking up knitting?
Firstly, thank you. :0 It's a terrible subject, and yes, I'll say some terrible things, but I'm glad that in terms of suckiness, I'm doing not so terrible so far! <3 And, Yes, I have, actually. Here is my latest creation! A Frog hat, for Ember. My next project is an Apple hat with an angry face on it. =3=
So that's all for today. Kittie is home, but she is hiding in her room, and I doubt I'll see her before I go pass out in a few minutes. Hope everyone out there had a good day as well, and I look forward to some possible new comments in the morning!
With all my Angry love,
Apples.

You're really good at knitting! I'm quite jealous. XD
ReplyDeleteOne day I'll become as good as you :3
@Jennifer:
ReplyDeleteI actually cheat, a bit. XD I use a knitting loom. They are very handy and make the work go by very fast! I made the frog hat in only a day! <3
Hey, I call them house coats.. =P
ReplyDeleteI'm glad today went alright for you.
You made an adorable hat, by the way. I can`t wait to see your next creation; an angry apple hat sounds pretty cute.
